Proska Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hope and opportunity to vulnerable communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo and beyond.

The story of the Prosper Kalenga Foundation begins with a profound personal loss. Our founder, Prosper Mubeneshay, watched helplessly as his father struggled with illness in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Despite his father’s urgent need for care, access to reliable healthcare was scarce, and the treatment he received was insufficient. The pain of losing someone so close, compounded by the frustration of a healthcare system that often failed families like his own, left an indelible mark on Prosper. It was this experience deeply personal, deeply painful that became the driving force behind the creation of the Proska Foundation in 2019.

From its earliest days, the foundation’s mission has been clear: no family should face illness alone, and no patient should feel abandoned by the very system meant to care for them. Prosper’s vision was not just to provide medical support but to create a network of compassionate care that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families. He understood that healthcare is more than medicine it is about human dignity, empathy, and hope.

The foundation started small, with hands-on initiatives in local communities. Its volunteers offered patient care, helped families navigate complex medical systems, and provided guidance on home safety to prevent illness and injury. They established 24/7 support services to ensure that help was never far away, whether a family needed immediate medical advice or emotional support in the middle of the night. Every action was informed by the principle that care should be accessible, compassionate, and continuous.

Over time, the Proska Foundation grew, both in reach and in impact. It became a beacon for families who had long struggled to find reliable healthcare. Through community programs, partnerships with local healthcare providers, and targeted support initiatives, the foundation worked tirelessly to bring practical solutions to real problems. Pharmacy support programs ensured that essential medications were available to those who could not afford them. Educational initiatives empowered families to understand their health and take proactive steps toward prevention.

Our mission is to care for orphans, empower young people through education, strengthen healthcare systems, and provide skills training in fields such as IT, sewing, and metal welding. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term solutions, we strive to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change.
